About Us

To be recognised across Scotland for our colleagues, our services and the opportunities we create.

ECEC History

ECEC was formed in 2016, by our Managing Director Wayne Archibald and David Graham who has since departed the business to continue his own journey elsewhere.  We started out working from the kitchen table and eventually moved to an office in Leith.

As we started to grow, we increased our team of Electricians. We also employed an Office Administrator to help with the increasing demands of running the business and ensuring we delivered on our clients’ needs.

With growth in the business our ambitions also grew, meaning we began looking at tendering for bigger projects.  This resulted in the employment of a Commercial Director to support this process.  By continually improving our business foundations, processes and systems this has allowed us to develop the business to where it is today.

This year we moved into even bigger premises and continue to increase our team of Electricians. As well as being Edinburgh Electricians to the domestic market within Edinburgh we have now gained work on larger commercial projects across Scotland.  This has been achieved by following our Mission Statement and raised the standard of electrical services, creating many opportunities through innovation and growth.

Following on from our success working on a new house build site our strategy changed in focus to more work within this area.  We grew our team further to support in the delivery of our strategy.

We have started work on another new build housing development in Edinburgh, as well as increasing our business partners, working on property extension and renovations.

This year is all about renewable energy, and after achieving our MCS Certification we started installing Solar PV Panels and Battery Storage Systems across Edinburgh.

We started a joint partnership with Taylor Solar  www.taylorsolar.co.uk as the electricians on their solar panel installations. Providing our electrical expertise in battery storage installations and set up.

ECEC won the Best Electrical Contractor in Scotland at the 2023 Home Improvement Awards.  Thanks to great team that is involved in making ECEC a winning company.

We have started work on a new school (East Calder Primary School), which is hopefully first of many projects with Castle Building Services.

Other projects are; apartments in Morningside in Edinburgh, commercial units in Sighthill in Edinburgh.  A potential hotel renovation in the center of Edinburgh.

This is along with working alongside some of the best builders and joiners in Edinburgh.

We also decided to change our accounts processes, and therefore employed a new Accountant, Sarah McKeown, to work internally within the team to support all things accounting.  Sarah is a great additional to our team and brining the accounts in-house has been a great benefit to the company.

New year great start for ECEC, as well as the continued work on the school in East Calder, we now have an additional school to work on, thanks to Castle Building Services.

We have also increased our team, by employing an Electrical Supervisor Jonathan (Jonny) Hook, who has hit the ground running and managing our East Calder Primary School Project as well as our new project Earlston Community Campus.  As well as Connor Urquhart who has joined our Commercial Team as an Electrician.

We have other great projects on the horizon as well as more solar panel and battery storage installations.

Extremely happy with the service we received from start to finish. They arrived when they said they would, were polite and left a very neat job. More than happy to recommend this company and will be using them again in the future. Thank you ECEC

The team did a good job in difficult circumstances – old house with all kinds of issues. Also dealt with the lockdown and delayed access to the property very professionally.
